getting situated

Last weekend we celebrated our anniversary visiting several waterfalls.

We’re back from India and haven’t been home much.  It’s amazing how life happens so quickly! Since I’ll (Cristina) be on another trip this week, I wanted to post a photo and video (below) from the last few weeks in India and on our trip out of state the weekend after India (where we also celebrated our 1 year anniversary!). Really, I’ll jump back into Bricklayers related material soon :-) .

We are so grateful for your loving prayers and support both before and during our recent medical mission trip to India.  We feel privileged to have been a part of the first medical team that Harvest India has received in its 40 year history.

We're screening the kids in the children's home in a village to see who needs dental care.

One of our favorite memories from the trip is about an eigth-year-old girl who was literally dragged kicking and screaming by her friends to our dental clinic at the ROCKHARBOR children’s home in Tenali.  The girls knew her teeth have been hurting and they wanted their friend to see the dentist despite her fear.  Cristina took the girl onto her lap while Stefan patiently took her through the process of having her tooth extracted.  We encountered many children like that little girl who came to us with fear but walked away with smiles on their faces.

During our trip, we were able to explore and establish a better understanding of what future medical partnerships might look like by doing the following:

  • Meetings with the leadership teams of the Harvest India Nursing Colleges, Children’s Homes, and Bible Colleges
  • Village Medical/Dental Camps
  • Dental Clinic at the ROCKHARBOR Children’s Home
  • Medical Outreach in the Tenali Red Light District and Leprosy Colony

During the next couple of months we will have follow up meetings with Suresh Kumar, president of Harvest India, members of the USA Harvest India Board, and the ROCKHARBOR Medical Lead Team.

We are tremendously grateful for the opportunity to have participated in this trip to India.  We appreciate your generosity, prayers, and love. Thank you for supporting us!

With love,

Stefan and Cristina Alexandroni
